Features.

User Side


1. Xoops Notifications
   Users can select to be notified if a listing is added in any category(whole module) or get notifications in just certain categories(category).


2. A Sorting System.
   Users can sort the listings by date DESC, date ASC, price DESC, price ASC, title DESC, title ASC, hits DESC, hits ASC.


3. A Rating System.
   Users can rate the user who is selling the product and also rate the product.


4. Users can add up to three photos.


5. Has a page for users to see all ads by 'this user'.
   Users can see all the Ads by another user, and the owner of the ads can administer their Ads from that page.


6. Users can choose how to be contacted.
   Users can select to be contacted by email, PM, telephone or any combination of those.


7. Users can print out the Ad.

8. Users can send an Ad to a friend.



Admin Side


1. Has Xoops Group Permissions, per category - per group.

2. Clonable.
   There are only 6 steps to do manually and the module will be cloned, with no errors.

Installation


How to install

1. Unzip the file Classifieds_RC2.zip, you will see inside 2 folders one called modules, one called class, and a README file
2. Upload the folder classifieds (that is inside the modules folder) to your Xoops modules folder.
3. If you want to rename the module do it now, you can't change it after you install the module.
4. Go to Xoops Module Administration and install like normal.
5. Go to Ads Module administration and click on category maintenance, create your categories.
6. Go to Ads Module administration and click on Permissions and set up the following for each category.
   A. View Ads Permissions - Select which groups can view Ads.
   B. Ads Submit Permissions - Select which groups can submit Ads.
   C. Ads Premium - Select which groups can set how long an ad will stay on the site until it is deleted. If they don't have permission it will default to whatever you set in the Ads Module preferences (default is 14 days).
7. Go to Ads Module administration and click on Preferences and set to your liking.
8. That should be it.



Upgrading

1. Back up your database.

2. uninstall the old version (to prevent template problems).

3. delete the old version from your server, except if you have any photos, you need to back them up 

4 upload the new version.

5. install like any other module.

6. open your old database in a text editor. Find just the insert statements from the classifieds module.
   Follow this format, 'Your_prefix_ads_listings' 
   Highlight this part of the above statement.  'Your_prefix_ads'
   Do a replace or replace all and change to 'Your_prefix_classifieds' of course replace 'Your_prefix' with what your database prefix is and 'classifieds' with what ever the name of the module is.

   restore your old classifieds database (not the structure, just the insert statements.

Setting up the Preferences


1. Currency symbol :
	Your default money sign -- Module Default is $	


2. Use Koivi Editor :
	Use Koivi editor or basic xoops Editor 
	Choices are (Yes No) -- Module Default = No


3. Moderate Listings :
	Allows you to moderate the listings or not 
	Choices are (Yes No) -- Module Default = No


4. Listings per page :
	How many listings do you want to show -- Module Default = 10


5. Show new Listings :
on the Front Page of Module	
	Choices are (Yes No) -- Module Default = Yes


6. Number of new Listings :
on the Front Page of Module
	-- Module Default = 10


7. Listings marked new for :
in days	
	Marked with a 'new' graphic for so many days -- Module Default = 3


8. Allow anonymous users to reply to a classified ad.
using the e-mail form (recommended is No, because of spam.)
	Choices are (Yes No) -- Module Default = No
THIS WILL BE REMOVED AS AN OPTION.


9. Maximum Photo Size :

12. Listing Duration :

	The default time before a listing is automatically deleted, remember premium users can change this time. -- Module Default = 14


13. Display subcategories :

	Choices are (Yes No) -- Module Default = Yes


14. Number of subcategories to show :
	How many subcategories you want to show, if you selected 'yes' to 'Display subcategories' -- Module Default = 4


15. Category Default Sort Order	 
	The order that the categories will be sorted. 
	Choices are by alpabetical order or by your personal preference (numbered) order. -- Module Default = alpabetical


16. Listing Default Sort Order	
	The order that the listings will be sorted.
	Choices are by title, date, price or popularity. -- Module Default = date


17. Allow Users to use different name	
	Will allow users to use a different name when submiting a listing
	Choices are (Yes No) -- Module Default = No


18. Allow Users to use different e-mail	
	Will allow users to use a different e-mail when submiting a listing
	Choices are (Yes No) -- Module Default = No


19. Allow Users to rate sellers
	Will allow users to rate the user selling the item
	Choices are (Yes No) -- Module Default = No


20. Allow Users to rate items.
Will allow users to rate the item being sold
	Choices are (Yes No) -- Module Default = No
